| Torrey Highlands bank robbed
By City News Service
A thief in a black hooded jacket used a demand note to rob a Torrey Highlands bank Dec. 18, authorities reported.
The robber, who appeared to be in his 20s, handed the message to a teller at the U.S. Bank satellite branch inside an Albertsons supermarket in the 7800 block of Highlands Village Place about 11:30 a.m., according to San Diego police.
After the employee turned over an undetermined amount of cash, the bandit left the store, got into a vehicle and drove west on State Route 56, SDPD Sgt. Ray Battrick said.
In addition to the jacket, the robber was wearing blue jeans and a baseball cap, the sergeant said.
